EASY ACTION To Reunite For Swedish Club Gig
October 5, 2005Acclaimed '80s Swedish glam-rock band EASY ACTION will reunite for a club gig on December 16 in Kalmar, Sweden. Also appearing on the bill will be HANOI ROCKS and NOCTURNAL RITES. EASY ACTION's lineup for the concert will include original members Kee Marcello (real name: Kjell Lövbom; guitar; EUROPE),Zinny J. Zan (real name: Bo Stagman; vocals; SHOTGUN MESSIAH) and Per-Olof "Tyrone" Thyrén (bass).
According to Tartarean Desire, EASY ACTION were formed in Stockholm in 1982 by Marcello and Thyrén. The band name was stolen from another similar Stockholm-based band who had released two singles for EMI. In 1983 they issued their self-titled debut album and had a minor hit in Sweden with the song "We Go Rocking", a track whose chorus was reportedly "stolen" by POISON for their U.S. smash-hit "I Want Action" (EASY ACTION reportedly took POISON to court over the matter and were awarded a financial settlement in the case). The band broke up around 1986 after having recorded "That Makes One". Tommy Nilsson (vocals, 1985-1986) went on to a successful solo career as a pop singer. In 1985 the band appeared in the thriller film "Blood Tracks" by legendary B-movie producer Mats-Helge Olsson.
